I'm so excited to show you Conie Fong's New Release digital stamp called "Rosealea Mermaid".
I was honoured to colour the gorgeous new image for Conie's shop. It has now been released and is available to buy at https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/1445400278/digital-stamp-digi-stamp-digistamp
I coloured her with the following Copic Markers:
Pinks: RV99 RV09 RV04 RV02 RV00
Skin: E04 E02 E01 E00 E000 E0000
Blues: B39 B37 B06 B04 BG01 BG000 and in a few places, such as her headband and bubbles, I added BG78 BG49 BG15 and BG45
Brown shell: E37 E33 E01 E51
I started with the body colour, because I knew I wanted it to be a mixture of blues and subtle turquoise. Then, I had an idea to fade the pale turquoise into a pale pink. After adding the pale pink, I thought I'd offset it all with the dark pink hair. Initially, I coloured with only four pink Copics, but I realised it needed more depth and added the extra RV99 last into the shadowy areas of her hair. I had the same issue with the large shell that she's holding up to her ear. It was too pale, so I added E37 over the top and re-blended the rest again!
I also used a Gelly Roll 10 pen to add the white dots to places like her tail and shells.
Once the colouring was done, I fussy-cut around the edge and mounted her on a backing of:
Navy base card
White scalloped edge rectangle die cut from Uniquely Creative
Turquoise shimmer card
Backing paper with beach theme from a 6x6in pad called 'Summer Feelings' by StudioLight.
Cut-down Kaisercraft 6.5x6.5in sentiment from the 'Wildflower' paper pad (This is no longer sold, sorry, but you can always use the sentiment included in Conie's Rosealea Mermaid digi and cut it out with a simple die)
